Attribute types
All twenty-one types of field you can put on a record, grouped the way the picker groups them.
The type decides what a field can hold, how it is shown, and which filters and totals it offers.
Basics
- Text. Any words.
- Number. A quantity you can sum and average.
- Currency. An amount and its currency together.
Date and time
- Date. A day.
- Datetime. A day and a time.
- Time. A time with no day attached.
Selection
- Select. One choice from a set you define, each with a colour.
- Multi-Select. Any number of choices from that set.
- Stage. The step a record has reached. A board groups its columns by this.
- Boolean. Yes or no.
- Rating. A score shown as stars, hearts, flags, thumbs, flames or diamonds.
Contact
- Email. An address, with its type.
- Phone. A number with its country and calling code.
- Full Name. A first name and a last name kept apart.
- Address. Street, city, state, country and postcode.
- Link. A web address, with an optional label.
Relations and media
- Reference. A pointer to one other record.
- Relationship. A link both records can see, in any of four shapes: one to one, one to many, many to one, many to many.
- User. A person in your workspace. This is how an owner is stored.
- Team. A group in your organization.
- Image. A picture, uploaded or taken from a company's website icon.
Attributes made of parts
Email, Phone, Full Name, Link, Address and Currency each hold several pieces rather than one value, so you can filter on one piece on its own. See Filtering.
For each of these you choose which pieces appear in the cell, which appear on hover, and which stay hidden.
