The containers

- Workspace. One team's space inside it. Most companies run on a single one.

- Record. One entry of an object. One customer is one record of Accounts.
- Attribute. A field on a record. See Attributes.
Read as a sentence: your organization has a workspace, the workspace has objects, each object has records, and each record has attributes.
What connects records to each other
An attribute can point at another record. That is how a contact belongs to an account, and how the account shows its contacts back without anyone typing them twice. Those links are what turn a set of tables into a CRM.
