Pinning and arranging columns
Pin up to three columns to each side of a Syncek table, and show, hide, move or rename the columns of a view.
Syncek lets you pin up to three columns to each side of a table, so they stay in view while the other columns scroll sideways. The first column, which names each record, is always pinned on the left and takes one of those three places. To pin another, click its header and choose Pin to left or Pin to right. Pinned columns are saved with the view, so on a shared view everyone sees them.
Pinning a column
- From the column. Click a column's header, or right-click it, and choose Pin to left or Pin to right. On a pinned column the menu offers the other side and Unpin.
- From View settings. View settings, above the table, shows Pinned left and Pinned right above the other columns, each with how many of its three places are taken. Drag a column into either one, or use the menu at the end of its row.
- A full side takes no more. Unpin one of its columns first.
- A pinned column always shows. It cannot be hidden until you unpin it.
On a narrow window, a pinned column that does not fit scrolls with the others and stays pinned for when there is room.
Showing, moving and renaming columns
Below the pinned columns, View settings lists all the others. The switch on a row shows or hides that column, and dragging the row moves it. In a column's header menu, Move left, Move right and Hide from view do the same one column at a time.
Edit column label, in the same menu, renames a column in this view only. The attribute keeps its name everywhere else, and Reset column label brings the original back.
What the view keeps
Pinned and hidden columns, their order and renamed labels are saved with the view as you change them, with no save button, and anyone but a Guest can change them. On a shared view the change reaches everyone who opens it, see Saved views. Column widths stay on the device where you set them, and row height is personal, see Personal settings.
The Notes page and the Emails area
The Notes page and the lists under Folders in the Emails area, such as Inbox and Sent, pin columns the same way. A few columns are always pinned there and count toward the three: Title on Notes, and From and Subject on the left and the date on the right in the Emails area. Column labels cannot be renamed there.
