Deleting records

Delete one record or many, from a table or a record page, what happens to what it was linked to, and why removing from a list is different.

Syncek deletes records from a table, one or many at a time, or from the record's own page, and every role except Guest can do it. There is no bin and no restore: a deleted record leaves every table, board and list, and nobody in the workspace can bring it back. If you might want the data again, export it first.

From a table

Open the menu at the end of a row, choose Delete, and confirm. To delete several, tick their rows and click Delete in the bar that appears. With two or more ticked, Syncek asks first. With only one ticked, it deletes that record straight away.

A board has no delete. Switch to a table view to delete from it.

From a record page

Open More options, the menu at the top of the page, choose Delete record and confirm. Syncek takes you back to the object's table.

What happens to what it touched

  • Records linked to it are not deleted with it.
  • It drops out of every list it was in.
  • Pictures stored in its Image fields are deleted with it.

To take back a whole import, undo it rather than deleting its records by hand.

Removing from a list is not deleting

Inside a list, the action is Remove from list. The record stays in its object, and only its place in the list goes, along with any values the list kept for it.
