The record page

What a record page in Syncek shows, from fields and comments to activity, email and notes, and how to change its layout for an object.

Every record in Syncek has its own page, which opens when you click the record's name in a table. The left side has two tabs: Details, with the record's fields, and Comments, where your team discusses it. The right side opens on Overview, with Activity, Emails and Notes beside it, and an account also has a Team tab listing its contacts. The layout is set per object, so every account page looks the same.

The top of the page

On a board, the arrow on a card opens the same page. At the top sit the record's name, with its image or its object's icon, and four buttons: Edit record, Add to list, New note and Merge record. More options, at the top right, holds Configure page and Delete record. The avatars beside it are the teammates working in the same object, see Seeing who else is working.

Merging and deleting have guides of their own: Merging records and Deleting records.

Details and Comments

Details shows the fields in sections, a single one called Fields until the layout adds more. Click a value to change it, with no save button. Under the fields, Lists shows the lists the record is on. The last block names who created the record and who last changed it, under Created at and Updated at.

Comments holds your team's discussion of the record, see Comments on records.

Overview and the other tabs

  • Overview shows the Highlights, fields picked to show as cards, when the layout has any. Below them come the latest entries from Activity, Emails and Notes.
  • Activity is the record's history: its creation, field changes, links added or removed, merges, imports, notes and list changes. Comments on the record are not part of it.
  • Emails holds the mail linked to the record, see Email in Syncek.
  • Notes holds the record's notes.
  • A relationship can have a tab of its own. An account's Team tab lists its contacts, see Relationships between records.

Drag the line between the two sides to make one wider, and double-click it to reset. On a narrow screen the two sides stack.

Changing the layout

Open More options, then Configure page. The same editor is in Settings, then Data, then Objects: pick the object, open Appearance and click Configure record page. Nothing changes until you click Save, and then the page changes for every record of that object, for everyone in the workspace.

  • On the left, New section adds a group of fields. You can drag fields between sections, and rename, reorder or delete a section. Details or Comments can be removed, but not both.
  • On the right, Overview always comes first, and its Highlights take up to six fields.
  • Add tab adds Activity, Emails or Notes if the page lacks one, or a tab for a relationship with up to five columns. Drag the tabs to reorder them. A page holds up to eight tabs.
