Undoing an import

Reverse an import within 72 hours. The records it created are deleted and the records it updated get their earlier values back.

Syncek can undo an import within 72 hours of the run finishing: it deletes the records the run created and gives the records it updated their earlier values back. Go to Settings, then Workspace, then Imports, open the actions menu on the run and choose Undo Import. Hover over its date to see when undo expires.

What undo does

  • Every record the run created is deleted.
  • Every record the run updated gets back the values it had before, in the fields the run changed. One gap today: in each group of 500 rows, a column left empty in the first row that updates a record is not saved for the other rows, and undo empties that field on them instead of restoring it.

The confirmation shows both counts before anything happens. Undo then runs in the background, the way the import did.

When undo is available

Within 72 hours of the run finishing, for a run that completed and created or updated at least one record. After 72 hours the option is gone, and Syncek can no longer restore the earlier values for you.

Undo early

Undo does not merge with work done since the import. A field someone edited by hand after an update run goes back to its value from before the import, and the edit is lost. Undo as soon as a run looks wrong, before your team starts working on the records it touched.

To bring the data back in, fix the file and import it again.

Before an update run

Undo restores only what a run changed. Unmap the columns that should not touch existing records before you start. See Updating records with an import.
