Comments on records
Comment on a record in Syncek, reply and react, resolve a thread once it is settled, and read every comment on an object from its table.
Everyone in a Syncek workspace except a Guest can comment on a record. Comments sit on the Comments tab of the record page, and from a table you can open one record's comments, or every comment on that object, in a panel beside the table. A comment can be answered, reacted to with an emoji, and resolved once the question is settled. Only its author can edit or delete it.
Writing a comment
On the record page, open Comments, write in the box at the bottom and click Comment. Type @ and a name to mention a teammate. A mention names them in the text, and Syncek sends them no notification.
A comment on the record is not the same as a comment on one of its notes. Those stay with the note, see Notes.
Replies, reactions and resolving
Hover a comment to see its buttons. A reply has only the menu.
- Reply answers the comment underneath it. Replies go one level deep, so a reply cannot be answered in turn.
- The emoji button adds a reaction. Click a reaction under a comment to add or remove your own.
- Resolve marks the thread as settled and Unresolve reopens it. Anyone who can comment can do both, not only the author.
- The menu at the end of a comment holds Copy link, and on your own comments Edit and Delete. Deleting asks first and cannot be undone, and an edited comment says so.
On the record page, Copy link gives a link that opens the record with that comment highlighted.
Open and resolved
A list of comments starts on Open, which leaves resolved threads out. Choose Resolved or All to see them.
From a table
In a table, the number next to a record's name counts its open threads. Click it to open that record's comments in a panel beside the table, or hover a record with none to start the first.
View comments, at the top of the page, opens every comment thread on the object, newest first, each under the name of its record. Click the name to open the record page at that comment. The panel adds Mine, which keeps only the comments you wrote. From one record's comments, All comments goes back to the whole object.
An Admin or the Owner can hide the numbers and the button for an object: in Settings, then Data, then Objects, pick the object, open Appearance and turn off Show comment count.
What a Guest can do
A Guest can read every comment but cannot write, reply, react or resolve. See Roles and permissions.
