# Dashboard and reports

Syncek has one dashboard: the **Dashboard** page at the top of the sidebar, which
is also the page Syncek opens on. It shows how many records **Leads**,
**Contacts**, **Accounts** and **Opportunities** hold and the five most recently
added records of each. Nothing on it can be added, moved or removed, and Syncek
has no charts and no report builder. For report numbers, use a
[view](https://syncek.com/docs/views/saved-views) with a total under a column.

## What the dashboard shows

- A line under the title with the total, such as `212 total records across 4 objects`.
- One card each for **Leads**, **Contacts**, **Accounts** and **Opportunities**,
with its number of records. Click a card to open that object's table.
- **Recent Activity**: one card per object, such as **Recent Leads**, listing its
five newest records. Click a name to open the record.

The counts leave out deleted records and cover only the workspace you are in.
Objects you add yourself do not appear on the dashboard, and **Recent Activity**
shows the records added most recently, not the ones edited most recently.

## Reports are views

The questions a report answers, such as how many opportunities are open or what
they add up to, are a filtered table in Syncek:

1. Open the object, for example **Opportunities**, and
[filter](https://syncek.com/docs/views/filtering) it down to the records the question is about.
2. Read the footer. Under the record name it shows how many records match, and
under a Number column you can add **Sum**, **Average**, **Min** or **Max**. A
total covers the rows loaded so far, so read
[Column calculations](https://syncek.com/docs/views/column-calculations) before trusting one on a long
   table.
3. Save the table as a [view](https://syncek.com/docs/views/saved-views), so the question is one click
next time. A shared view shows the same numbers to everyone.

For a chart, click **Export**, choose **Visible rows** and chart the `CSV` or
`Excel` file in a spreadsheet. See [Exporting data](https://syncek.com/docs/your-data/exporting).
