# Email in Syncek

Connect a Gmail mailbox and the email you already send and receive is filed against
the records it concerns, in both directions. You keep working in your inbox.

**Nothing is sent on your behalf.** Connecting a mailbox reads and files. A message
leaves only when you send it.

## Your inbox in Syncek

The Emails area holds your mail with a few CRM-shaped additions:

- **Follow up** and **Waiting**, two statuses you set per conversation: one for
what is on you, the other for what you are waiting on somebody else for.
- **Scheduled** and **Drafts**, for what is written but not gone yet.
- **Archived** and **Templates**.

## Writing

The composer takes the usual To, Cc and Bcc, formatting and attachments, and adds:

- **Variables** that pull values from the record you are writing about. You are
warned before sending if one cannot be resolved.
- **Schedule send**, which you can reschedule or send immediately while it waits.

## What your team sees

Email filed on a record is visible to the workspace, which is the point: the
history should outlive whoever happened to be in the thread. A **blocklist** on your
account and **protected recipients** on the workspace are how you keep an address
or a domain out. See [Connect Gmail](/email/connect-gmail).
