# Connect Gmail

**Settings, then Personal, then Integrations**, then **Connect Google**. The
mailbox starts syncing as soon as you come back.

A mailbox is connected per person, not per workspace. What Syncek does with the
mail once it arrives is [email overview](/email/overview). Each teammate connects their
own, and what gets filed is the mail that person sent and received.

## After it is connected

The account card gives you **Sync now**, **Pause sync**, **Resume sync** and
**Disconnect**, plus a default sending mailbox if you connect more than one. Each
account has its own display name, signatures and blocklist.

Two settings sit on the same page: **Track email opens**, and **Sent with Syncek**,
which adds a small line to what you send.

## Deciding what a new conversation creates

Filing email against [records](/core-concepts/objects-and-records) you already have is one thing. Creating records from
people you have never met is a workspace decision, in **Settings, then Workspace,
then Email and calendar**: a record for every contact, case by case, or none.

That page can also create an account from the sender's email domain, which is what
keeps five people from the same customer from arriving as five unconnected
contacts.
